Participating at a seminar on "Importance of Modern Education in The Madrassas", organized by Tauheed Educational Trust at Kishanganj on Saturday, Manjhi urged the young boys and girls to develop scientific temperament and hone their skills so that they could attain success in life. Taking a pot-shot at those fringe elements who said that madrasas across the country had turned into hubs for training the terrorists, CM Jitan Ram Manjhi alerted the people against such rumour-mongers and preachers of hatred and said, "Such divisive and fissiparous elements were a real threat to the country's mosaic of unity and integrity."

Extending a carte blanche to all private educational institutions to upgrade their institutions or open new universities, CM Manjhi said, "The government will not just encourage but also extend all possible help to them in this regard." In this context, he also nudged the privately-run Tauheed Education Trust to enlarge their vision and make an effort in this direction.

Stating that the state government spent 24% of its total annual budget on the spread of education, Manjhi made no bones about the 'output' and laid great stress on the development of quality education at all levels. He declared that there would be Plus Two education facilities at all the panchayats across the state by 2017.

Earlier, interacting with the girl students of madrassa run by the Tauheed Educational Trust, Manjhi exhorted them to develop their latent talent and adapt themselves to modern ways of education.

Among those who took part at the seminar were Bihar Minority Welfare Minister Naushad Alam, State Minority Welfare Commission Chairman Naushad Ahmad, Congress MP Asrarul Haq, Kishanganj Congress MLA and ex-Minister Dr Javed, Kochadhaman JD (U) MLA Mozahid Alam, BJP MLC Dilip Kumar Jaisawal and Tauheed Educational Trust Chairman Matiur Rahman. Also present were state agriculture principal secretary Amrit Singh Meena, IG Ambedkar, Purnia DIG Ram Narayan Singh, Kishanganj DM Animesh Kumar Parashar and SP Dipak Kumar Burnwal.

Making a jibe on those who advocated scrapping of Article 370, adoption of uniform civil code, and shouting for construction of 'mandir' at the disputed land from housetops, Manjhi said they have not yet learnt their lessons and asked the people to thwart their sinister game plans.

Expressing his concern over the non-operationalization of two tea processing plants, which were completed at a cost of Rs 11 crore in 2004 due to some technical reasons, he assured steps would be taken soon to overcome them so that tea growers did not have to suffer any more.
