Good news for the people of Barsoi subdivision in Katihar district as the govt has decided to open an Industrial Training Institute (ITI). This is a landmark decision at the people of Barsoi sub-division are financially weak and usually youths of the area discontinue studies after passing matriculation. If the ITI starts functioning at Barsoi it would be a big bonanza for the locals and skilled youths can get jobs in various industrires.

The session at Barsoi ITI would begin from this year only informed an official from Labour Resource Dept of Govt of Bihar. Once functional the ITI at Barsoi will be 64th in the state of Bihar. The official said at Barsoi ITI a total of six branches (trends) will be operational that includes Electrician, Fitter, IT and ESM, Electronic Mechanics, Welder and Mechanic Diesel.
The admission in Barsoi ITI would be taken through Bihar Entrance Competitive Test. In each trend 21 students can take admission. 3 (three) percent seats will be offered to reserved students, mentioned the official. The estimated cost for establishing the Barsoi ITI is Rs. 10 crore. However till the permanent campus comes into existence classes would be conducted in rented building. For each trend an instructor would be appointed along with Principal, Vice Principal and supporting staff.
