Sibal claims AMU VC not interested to establish Centre at Kishanganj! VC denies minister’s statement

0
New twist in the cat-and-rat race of AMU Kishanganj once again the HRD Minister has stunned the AMU Kishanganj lovers with his claim that ‘AMU VC is not willing to open the centre at Kishanganj’. However, when AMU VC was contacted by Human Chain's President Lt. Gen (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah had denied the statement of HRD minister and confirmed that he is  not against establishing the campus at Kishanganj. He is just waiting for the approval of President of India (Visitor of University) to proceed the work ahead.

Kapil Sibal, the union Human Resource & Development (HRD) Minister has again come out with a controversial statement regarding the proposed Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Centre at Kishanganj in Bihar. On Sunday (September 9, 2012) during a meeting with the editors of Urdu newspapers in Delhi the HRD Minister said, “I am ready to open Aligarh Muslim University centre in Kishanganj but the Vice Chancellor of the university is not ready.” Further Sibal said that he has talked with AMU Vice Chancellor Zameer Uddin Shah few days back regarding AMU Kishanganj. The VC had told me that if the centre (campus) will be opened at Kishanganj the internal clash would be erupted in the university, claimed Sibal.

However, the HRD Minister had given the reference of AMU Act and claimed it refrains the university from opening a centre outside Aligarh. When the editors asked him that the act of AMU had been already amended to do so, the Congress MP from Chandni Chowk constituency had denied for such provisions. Coming back to AMU Kishanganj issue the minister said that he can’t do anything as the VC and related stake-holders are not ready for same.

The statement of Kapil Sibal and his claim about AMU Kishanganj is totally baseless and biased as well. In fact, the Union Minister is spreading rumour among the common people and AMU Kishanganj lover with his recent statement. Human Chain - the Delhi based NGO of Seemanchal people had come across same feedback from RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav. The president of Human Chain and members of the NGO denied any such stand of AMU Vice Chancellor against Kishanganj Centre.

In fact, during the felicitation ceremony of Duty Society in the month of August AMU VC Zameer Uddin Shah himself urged to open the centre at Kishanganj. Lt. Gen. Shah told that there are more merits rather than demerits if the centre is established at Kishanganj, Bihar. He had also urged to anti-AMU centres camp to join hands for the noble cause and establishing the full-fledged campuses of AMU outside Aligarh. During telephonic talk with Human Chain president the AMU VC had denied any such allegation and confirmed that he is always ready to open the centre at Kishanganj. Lt. Gen Shah said that he is waiting for President's approval, once the university will receive the same further action will be taken for release of fund so that the campus can be established in Kishanganj.
