The election of Municipal Corporation in the district headquarters of Kishanganj is ongoing today (May 17, 2012). The voters of 31 wards across the Municipality of Kishanganj are going to exercise their votes. A total of 123 candidates are contesting the election this time from Kishanganj. In fact, all the contestants tried their best to woo the voters till the late night of Wednesday. The contestants keep them focused towards the colonies of financially weaker section and tried to influence them.
The polling has been started at 7.00 am in the morning and it will continue till 4.00 PM. As per sources the turn out of voters in the morning hours was less, and it is expected to raise in the afternoon. The district administration of Kishanganj has made proper arrangement for maintaining the law and order. Many troops have been deployed at the polling stations and the patrolling is also done by the police in jeeps.
