BJP's Bharat Bandh on May 31, 2012! NDA in Support, Left parties still to clear its stand

0
The political parties of India seem to get united for the ‘Bharat Bandh’ (All India Strike) called by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on May 31, 2012 against the recent Petrol Price Hike. Led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Bharat Bandh on 31st May, 2012 is supported by many other political parties of the country. However, Left Parties have not given any clear indication on whether or not they support the BJP led Bandh, they have decided to observe an ‘All India Protest Day’ on the very day the BJP has planned its Bharat Bandh.

BJP and other political parties supporting the Bharat Bandh has appealed to all trade organisations, industrial organisations, transport bodies and people of different states to fully support the bandh call by voluntarily closing their commercial establishments including shops, business houses, markets and transport services. Meanwhile, Janta Dal United has appealed to chief minister Nitish Kumar to postpone his Seva Yatra on May 31 and instead lead the Bharat bandh called by the NDA against the recent steep hike in the price of petrol and the runaway inflation.

It is a very casual approach toward the solution of the petrol price rise problem which is happening at frequent interval, but it may work if the common people will cooperate. The actual problem is that the opposition (BJP) is not strong enough to protest on any matter related with fuel hike and other strong issue on which public opinion can easily be obtained.
