AMUCC meets Kapil Sibal! The HRD Minister not in mood to open AMU Kishanganj

0
AMUCC (Aligarh Muslim University Coordination Committee), the Delhi group of working professionals and students from Bihar, West Bengal and Jharkhand that has become synonymous with development related to the proposed AMU Centre in Kishanganj met with Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibal at his office in New Delhi on Thursday (March 22, 2012) morning. A delegation of about 15 people led by Convenor Mohammad Aslam reached the office of Sibal accompanied by Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) Chief Ram Vilas Paswan as per pre-decided schedule.

The AMUCC team received a warm welcome in the office of Kapil Sibal. Howerver, Mr. Sibal again tried to misguide the delegation with his old and illogical arguments like the case is pending with Allahabad court. When the AMUCC team was clarifying the doubts the Union HRD Minister revealed that he is not in mood to establish the centre in Kishanganj. Reason is well known to us, the anti-Bihari perception and his closeness with the anti-AMU Centre lobby led by Rajya Sabha MP Wasim.

AMUCC had organized a successful dharna at Jantar Mantar on March 19, 2012 against the MHRD and Ministry of Finance. The dharna was supported by political leaders, educationists, activists and thousands of Delhi based people from Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The dharna had left a positive message among the political parties. Yesterday (March 21, 2012) night LJP Chief Ram Vilas Paswan had given a call to AMUCC Convenor Mohammad Aslam and wished to join the group for a meeting with Kapil Sibal. Mohammad Aslam had given his nod and in company of members Soban M Ahmad, Kaifee Anwer, Sarwer Alam, Tauqueer Alam, Minnat Rahmani, Tauqir Alam (JNU), Danish Anwer and Nasim Anzar.

Bottomline is that, Mr. Sibal is in no mood to establish the AMU Centre in Kishanganj, now it is a Big question, will he change his mind? Keep visiting for more details on Sibal issue...
