Saddam Hussain, a teenager from Araria (Seemanchal) Bihar and a student of Class X at S.T.S High School in Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) was buried at the University graveyard ‘Minto E’ on Thursday (January 5, 2011). The last remains of Saddam Hussain were buried in presence and large gathering of University students and staff. AMU Vice Chancellor Prof. P. K. Abdul Azis, Registra V.K. Abdul Jaleel, DSW Prof. Ainul Haq Khan, Proct Prof. Mujahid Beg and AMU Students’ Union President Syed Sharique Ahmad were present along with Saddam’s grieved father.
It should be noted, Saddam Husain was missing since December 22, 2011 and search operation was going at large scale around the city of Aligarh. Assuming it a Kidnapping and Ransom seeking case the AMU Vice Chancellor and the university fraternity were optimistic to search out Saddam Hussain. The AMU administration was on continuous touch with District Magistrate of Aligarh to discuss the developments. The Vice Chancellor had also written a letter to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh providing information in detail and highlighting the concerns of AMU fraternity in this matter. He also demanded to constitute a special task force to investigate the case on fast track basis.
Earlier, Saddam’s father expressed satisfaction on the efforts made by the University in carrying search operation for his son and said that he has come to find out in Aligarh that he is not the father of Saddam Husain only, rather all the students of this University consider him as their father.
Kidnapped and murdered on December 22, 2011 and the district administration could recover his body from Jawan police station area only on Wednesday after a prolonged search operation carried by it in collaboration with the University administration. His body was recognized by his father. Till the mortal remains of Saddam Hussain were recovered by police, his father was doubtful that his son has been murdered.
Aligarh Police have arrested nine persons for the murder of Saddam, confirmed the SP City Aligarh Sunil Kumar Singh.
