0
Here is another bad news related to private school in Kishanganj. This past week Kishanganj Police seized fake affiliation letters to some schools and seals from Oriental Public School premises. Acting on a tip off, the police raided the premises of Oriental Public School and seized the CBSE's fake seals and affiliation letters to the private schools in Araria and Purnia districts, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ranjeet Kumar Mishra said after conducting the raid. The police also seized answer-sheets of pre-board examinations and question papers, he said.

The Oriental Public School's principal Saryug Mishra managed to escape, Mishra said, adding further investigation was underway in the matter. Oriental Public School in Kishanganj is one of the most popular private schools having around thousand enrolled students. However, the school didn’t have affiliation for registration of students till Class X as per the norms of CBSE. The management of Oriental Public School was taking help of some CBSE affiliated private schools for its enrolled students to appear in Class X board exams.

Started by an ex teacher of Bal Mandir – the first CBSE affiliated school in Kishanganj, Oriental Public School became a preferred choice for the parents and wards looking for quality education. Meanwhile, many complaints were also received against the school for its small campus and ill-management. Its location in the residential area also caused problem to people of the area. Few months back the locals forcefully closed the school for sometime due to overflow of drainage water into the area.

The raid conducted by Police on Oriental Public School is a big lesson for other schools of Kishanganj district and nearby areas. Many schools follow the unlawful ways to make money by making the parents and wards fool with false affiliation or impersonating the almost similar names of country’s renowned School chains. The vigilance team takes quick action if any complain is registered against any school. The Oriental Public School has lost its faith among the locals and the parents / wards will now think twice before sending their children back to school.
