Kishanganj Railway Station is an important railhead of the North East Frontier Railwasy (NFR). Situated on Siliguri – Katihar rail route, Kishanganj Railway Station is served by several trains from different parts of the country. Except Sampark Kranti Express (2501/2502), all Guwahati bound trains including Rajdhani Express (12423/12424, 12435/12436, 12235/12236) has its stoppage at Kishanganj Railway Station. Gharib Nawaz Express (5715/5716) a special pilgrimage train meant for the shrine of Muslim Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti in Ajmer has its origin and last point in Kishanganj.

Note: Kishanganj is known for touts who offer ticket reservation facility without any license from Indian Railways. Please beaware of such touts available in the district headquarters and other parts of the district. They will try to influence you to book ticket through them by paying an extra charge of Rs. 100 to Rs. 500 (depending on the demand of tickets and routes) and will provide tickets in the name of some hypothetical names like R. Kumar, M. Alam, Pintu, Bablu.
Buying tickets through unauthorised travel agent or travelling on the name of someone else is a punishable offence as per law of Indian Railways. For any complaint you can contact the district administration or concerned higher authority of Railways.
