AMU Study Centre opens in Kishanganj

In a couplet famous Urdu poet Allama Iqbal says, “Kuchh Baat Hai Ke Hasti Mit-ti Nahin Hamaari, Sadion Raha Hai Dushman Daur-e-Zamaan Hamaara”. But here I would like to rewrite the couplet as, “Kuchh Baat Hai Ke Hasti Roshan Hai Hamaari, Sadion Raha Hai Qaail Daur-e-Zamaan Hamaara” in context to Kishanganj and its people.

Dear all hear is a good news for Kishanganj and the Surjapuri biradari. A branch of the world’s renowned Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is going to setup in Kishanganj very soon. The Bihar Government has given its approval to the proposal of the Vice-Chancellor Prof P K Abdul Aziz Sb. in December last year establish AMU's branch in Kishanganj district. The formal announcement was made by R. C .P. Singh, Chief Minister's Principal Secretary a couple of days back.

Ministry of Union Human Resources Development is planning to open five such branches in the country. Sometimes back the Central Government has sought land for this central university in Bihar. It demanded land in the Muslim dominated pocket of Bihar. As Kishanganj has the highest percentage of Muslims in Bihar and second largest in the country, so it will get one of the five branches of the Aligarh Muslim University.

On the whole, it is a moment to celebrate and we should pray that the centre will be beneficial for people of Kishanganj and nearby areas. Most importantly the Surjapuri AMU Old Boys fraternity should always be ready to make the AMU centre a success.

In fact, the AMU centre at Kishanganj is a dream come true for late Sir Syed Ahmad Khan who had think of educational development of the Muslims more than a century ago.
